On November 5, 1975, a logging crew in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest near Heber witnessed an amber-red glowing craft. Logger Travis Walton approached the object and vanished for five days. Later dramatized in the classic film Fire in the Sky, that extraordinary event permanently placed Heber-Overgaard on the cosmic map.
